Sunday Currently vol. 11

Hello, mabuhay! How have you been doing? Life has been well at my side. Ramadan just finished and I spent the Eid holidays with my loved ones. I’ll talk about that in another blog but, anyway, here’s my Sunday Currently.

CURRENTLY

Reading
before She Was Mine by Kate Long. I’ve been reading this book since April and I still didn’t finish it. But once I do, it will be my 11th book this year.

Watching
a lot of series and films lately. Like, a lot. I finished Vincenzo two weeks ago and it’s my top kdrama to date. I’m also finishing El Inocente on Netflix. It’s so good! If you’re into mystery/thriller/psychological stuff like I am, I recommend it; as anything Oriol Paulo is an autowatch for me. The Invisible Guest is still one of my top films ever.

Listening
to the sound of the birds chirping outside.

Thinking
about what to eat for dinner. I just finished watching a Tagalog film on Netflix called Love or Money. It made me think how money really does have a huge impact on our lives. Sigh.

Wishing
that the month will consistently be filled with joy.

Hoping
that I can start trading asap. Still have a lot to learn but we’ll get there! I also hope that I’ll have the motivation to write this week. There’s a lot already queued in my head.

Wearing
a souvenir shirt from Vigan and my pambahay shorts.

Loving
lemonade juice lately! I’ve been making it for weeks now and my fridge isn’t complete without it. Here’s my recipe:

  • 3/4 cup to 1 cup sugar
  • 1 cup water for the syrup
  • 1 cup lemon juice
  • 3-4 cups water to dilute the syrup
  1. Simmer 3/4 cup sugar with 1 cup of water in the pan until the sugar gets dissolved.
  2. Mix it with 1 cup of lemon juice and 3 to 4 cups of cold water after.

Squeezing the juice out of the lemons is super time-consuming but overall, it’s really easy to make.

Craving
for triple chocolate roll of Red Ribbon. It’s been years! I saw a ‘Red Ribbon Chocolate Cake’ in the grocery the other day but it wasn’t the same taste. :(

Needing
… hmm. Nothing at the moment. Are groceries a need?

Feeling
better. I had flu yesterday and omg, my anxiety.

Living in the UAE is a big privilege during this pandemic. Vaccines are free and in Abu Dhabi, you get free PCR tests whenever you want. The Philippines can never. Hehe. What is your government doing during this pandemic?

It’s just a short update but I hope everyone’s having a great month so far. Stay safe and keep your hands clean. Until my next post.

Love, Amielle

  1. I will recommend El Inocente to my sisters. Thanks for the recommendation. The lemon juice and chocolate cake made me crave though. Damn. Haha. And you are right about The Ph and this pandemic. You are lucky your government is handling it well. Same in Germany. Can only wish that things begin to improve here soon.

    1. Sorry, I got confused. Is Germany’s government the same with PH’s or UAE’s? 😅 I pray for the latter! 🤍

    2. That’s really good to hear!! Can I ask which area you’re in? My partner has been wanting to move there for quite some time now. I still need some courage & convincing. 😅
